In the southern USA the word, “Suite” meaning a group of three pieces of furniture?
is pronounced as “sute” In the English dictionary should it not be pronounced as in the word “sweet” ?
Why don’t southerners know this? I find it very odd!

The previous answer is correct, remember that a ‘suit’ of clothes was originally a set of three items (jacket, trousers and waistcoat) and there are four suits in a pack of cards. Suite (sweet) is probably French in origin and some people from the English-speaking world will prefer the English ‘suit’.

Have you opened a dictionary lately? It can be pronounced either way. Southerners aren’t stupid people (and no I’m not from the south). I find it very odd that you have so little a life that you would care.
