Help, there are so many things about verbs. After all, without action words there can be no sentence.

Transitive verbs have an object, as in I saw the house.

Intranstive have no object, as in I saw.

There are three main tenses, past, present and future. Many verbs are irregular, meaning that the three tenses don’t follow the normal pattern. I see, I saw, I have seen, for example, is irregular. A regular verb would be one like fan–I fan, I fanned, I have fanned, I will fan.

I suggest getting hold of a grammar of English or find one on the internet.

Verb-it is something you can do!! run, jump, fly crawl, climp, fall. Stuff like that. There are also helping verbs and the such, that maybe you can’t do but they mean like a state of something. Such as: She HAS a little kitten. See how it serves as the verb. Also, a verb can contain two words like: She might BE GOING to the mall later. In that case both BE and GOING are one verb, Be is the helping verb. And actually some would consider the might to be a verb as well. It is a matter of thought and opinion.

A verb is generally a word for an action, such as “see” or “run”. There are other verbs that do other things in English grammar, but the concept of “actions” covers a lot of territory.

If there is a college bookstore or used bookstore nearby, try getting a cheap copy of an English handbook, usually with the word “Handbook” in the title. It will have answers to grammar questions you didn’t even know existed!
