There was a top 10 song way back in 1928 “I Scream-You Scream-We All Scream-For Ice Cream” by Fred Waring’s Pennsylvanians. So the saying goes at back at least almost 80 years.

I found In 1927, Americans were not only eating ice cream, they started singing about it, as the “Ice Cream song” (“I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream!”) was written by Billy Moll, Howard Johnson, and Robert King.

Is this THE Howard Johnson of restaurant fame?

Someone with too much time on their hands. They could have been eating ice cream seeing how they are so passionate about it.
