DRUM question. please?
so im looking for a drum set.
either ludwig or yamaha
what would you choose and why?
and the bass drum
why is there a hole in the front of some bass drums
like in this drum set

does it make it louder? is it better than a closed one?

i would go with yamaha, better quality.
and the hole in the front of some bass drums is to allow a bass drum microphone to be inserted near/in the hole.

I always thought that Yamaha was a percussion company, while Ludwig was only cymbals…? I’ve never seen an actual Ludwig trapset before… so I don’t know if that means that they’re THAT bad that no one uses them… or if it means that they’re THAT good that it’s rare to own one… ?

prefer YAMAHA because it is famous.
I think open ones creates higher volumes.
