Someone who discriminates people based on their age. Like racist, but against people of a specific age. Some people are ageist against young people, some people are ageist against old people, etc.

I agree – people DO do many amazing things at all ages – but that doesn’t stop some people from judging others by their age. An ageist is just that – a person who makes preconceived notions about others based on their ages. If you need proof that ageism, the lesser of the three evils (racism, sexism, and ageism), still exists – take a look in the Yahoo Answers categories Singles & Dating and Pregnancy – where age is ALWAYS an issue.

Since you already have the answer, I’d just like to observe that in my experience, “Old People” are anyone 10 years or more older than you happen to be at any point in time.

It’s a person that stereotypes older people. I wouldn’t use the term discriminate here, that seems a bit harsh.

Or, with your spelling, it could mean to feed or pasture livestock for a fee…

J.S. said do do….

Similar to racist, but instead of using skin color you discriminate based on age.
