Do you want a free english teacher.?

This guy on one of my answers knows everything( i do believe) He totally missed the point of my question. When your txt(on cell phone) Do you spell every word out?(i dont) When your talking to your friends(Do you talk to them like there your english teacher-for example?-i dont……. My point being on yahoo answers people get so frustrated wit incorrect grammer when you can usually ballpark what someone is saying. My teacher told me its called coad switching!!!! Meaning u usually talk and spell differently to your friends than you would your teachers.

So what’s your question? Are you looking for people to agree with you? I do! I’m an English teacher and I don’t have a problem with bad spelling and grammar on yahoo answers — as long as I can understand it — but my students are expected to use correct spelling and grammar in their essays. I don’t know what ‘coad switching’ means but I suspect your teacher means ‘code switching’ which is what bilingual people do when they switch between two languages. In our case, we are talking about the two languages of ‘proper English’ and ‘casual English.’ Or ‘spoken English’ and ‘written English.’ Yahoo answers and e-mails usually follow the rules of spoken English, even though they are actually written. This is fine with me! Now, can I have a best answer please! I’ve asked a lot of questions today and need the points! Thanks 🙂
