Certain nuances of their definitions overlap, but essentially, their meanings are different.

To improve is to make better. To enhance is to add to, often with the goal of improvement.

So while wine can both improve and enhance a romantic evening, studying hard can only improve a test score, not enhance it.

Yes. They can pretty much be used interchangeably. You can enhance or improve a test score. But as Diane H noted, improve has a more general meaning.

Not exactly. Enhance means to develop something’s already-existing properties, and improve could either mean that, or to change it in another direction.

“This eye shadow enhances the color of your eyes.” (It makes your blue eye seem bluer.)

“Try this cleanser to improve your complexion.” (Your acne is not attractive, and you should make it go away.)

Enhance is improve in value or quality.

Improve can be used too as grow or make better and make good use of something.
