Would UC Davis be good for a history major?

It is one of my options for transferring from a CC as a history major. I also plan to double minor in computer science and poli sci.

I know Berkeley would be ideal for history, but would Davis be any good? I know it is famous for its sciences.

Definitely Berkeley for computer science and also political science. Berkeley is well-known for both of those majors. Tough to get in, but not impossible. You should keep Davis as a second option just in case you don’t get Berkeley. Davis is still a good school, its far out in the country, but their science programs are good and easier to get into than Berk. History in general should be good at any university.

The best way to answer this question is to ask yourself: What am I going to do with a history degree? If your answer is to become a teacher, then it is best than you choose wisely and go to a cheaper school like the CSUs. If your answer is to do research or be a librarian the same answer goes here to. Go to a CSU, it is cheaper, same quality education, less people (of course this depends, on which campus). But overall, CSUs are basically the same as UCs minus the big money and the plethora of graduate school programs that UCs have.
