During classical china trade occurred around the time of the Zhou and Han dynasties. Most of the trade was based on luxury items such as silk, jewelry, leather and furniture. There was also trade for rice and wheat in their growing regions.

This is a very good thesis statement for an AP World History paper. However, I would edit it as follows:

During the Zhou and Han Dynasties of Classical China, much of the trade that occurred was fixed in items such as silk, jewelry, leather, and furniture. Agriculturally speaking, there was also much trade for rice and wheat in their growing regions.

The editing above was done primarily as a grammatical measure, emphasizing the period and not the action itself. Good luck!
