Probably coming up with powerful opening and closing paragraphs. Everything else from the brainstorming to the final editing is pretty easy.

In my experience, it’s pre-writing. Kids come up with great ideas, but tend to have a difficult time focussing in on a small moment and then organizing information so that it makes sense. Many kids also have difficulty with revision because they don’t see their mistakes or think that it’s perfect and don’t want to have to re-write the work.

1. Pre-write
2. First draft
3. Revising
4. Final draft
It depends on people. if you are enable to come up with ideas quickly, pre-write or first draft may be the hardest, yet if you are not familiar with cleaning up, of course, revising is so hard.
For me, I would say revision is the hardest because we need to spend much more time on revision, and it is the heart of writing process. First draft just like who cares? cuz it is like freewriting to me. Pre-write is not my problem. I think fast and brilliant. Revision keep me read again and again. Final draft..just edit and turn in..that’s it
