What should an incoming freshmen do to build the chance of going to a school like Stanford?

I am an incoming freshmen and am taking all the honors classes available. Besides the grades what extracurriculars could i start to do that would look really good. Can u advise any academic competitions, clubs, community service opportunities, or anything that would be good to start. Do you have to do sports or can you do other things that would look just as good, since i am not a very sporty person.

Anyways….all the help will be great, it is my dream to go to stanford and i am really worried that i am not going to have enough and outstanding extracurriculars.

Unfortunately, there is no way to guarantee acceptance into Stanford or any school for that matter. Taking honors classes (and of course doing well) helps, as well as SAT scores, AP exams, community/school involvement…with private schools there is also the personal statement and other things they want that can often be helpful for applicants because you can really sell yourself. But then again you can have an amazing app, amazing grades….and still not get in.

Just dont’ get involved in activities for the sake of putting them on your college apps. It’s a waste of time if you’re not really into it.

It is very important that you are a well rounded person. Your high academics is just great, but you really need to look around for some volunteer work you can participate in.
