Which graduate program to chose?

I have graduated with a BA in Political Science and International Relations. I am now studying for my masters in Education. My goal was to finish Education and move into non-profit work. I worked with the International Rescue Committee this pas summer, teaching refugee kids and I loved it. In the end, I want to work with refugees full time. However, I’m not sure a Masters in Education will be sufficient. It works if I plan on doing youth refugee work, but that is a small field and me, being very pragmatic, I would like a degree that will let me do humantiarian/refugee work in any context. So what should I do? I was considering transfering to an MPA program, transfering to NYU and creating my own major at their Gallatin school, finishing Education and trying to get a job with a humanitarian organization, or finally joining the Peace Corps. I would love to work with the IRC in the future, but I need the proper background and I am lost as to which path is better. Thanks for any advice =)

I would advise you to go the field some more.. If you have the opportunity and time to finish school at a later date. There are plenty of organizations that would very willing to take you under their wing and possibly grant you the education you desire in the future. Through the passing of this time, you may find out which direction best suits you.

Why don’t you ask this question of someone at IRC? They, if anyone, will know the background required to work with such people.
