if you are already a senior, apply as soon as you have all the application materials needed to meet their requirements for admission…essay, test scores, gpa, completed application form, recommendations, transcript, etc. colleges love when they can receive everything all at once, but if not, at least within a very short time frame from when your application is first received. if there’s a long awaiting paper trail then all your materials will usually just sit in a file cabinet until it is all turned in and ready to be seen by a recuiter. also, try not to cut too close to the deadline and try to take the SAT/ACT as much as possible well before the deadline so you can feel more satisfied with your results. if not, then whatever results they have from you by the deadline may be the only ones used in deciding whether to reject or admit you because usually once the decision is made, it’s hard to be reconsidered unless your on a waitlist, deferred, etc. if you think your behind on having all your stuff together then try and wait until the last deadline to apply before sending anything in. remember, your one among thousands so the sooner your done applying and it’s all in the mail, the sooner they can make their decision and you can relax. good luck!

It depends on what kind of college you are applying to. If you are applying to a very strong university that has high admissions requirements, then you may want to wait until you retake your tests. If you are applying to regular universities, I would apply the fall of your senior year. Most college websites have a page as to when their deadlines are, so make sure that you are aware of them. Your ACT score is pretty strong. A 21 is required for most univerities.

Don’t put applications off no matter what. College applications may seem difficult, but they’re fairly routine questions, and if you are accepted into a college that you don’t really want to go to, you can always decide against it later.

You should apply right after taking your test.
