November 1st through November 30 are the only dates that you can apply to any or all of the UC’s, and this can only be done online or through paper application. You can start on your paper application prior to November 1st, but I find it easier to do it online. However, you can’t start on your application online until November 1st. In addition you don’t want to wait to the last minute. I know some students in high school who waited until November 30th, and when it was like 10 minutes before midnight the uc system crashed, and they weren’t able to apply because by the time it started to work again the deadline had already passed.

The application usually consists of writing 3 essays. If you get a copy of the paper application you can see what the questions are and can start writing your drafts. You also have to enter all your whole school history and your a-g requirement classes in the application manually. It’s a tedious task.

Then you’ll have to wait until March or April to find out if they’ve accepted you or not. It’s quite stressful, so start ASAP on the application.
