Coach T has a great answer just adding a few notes.

1. Look into the part about looking at CLEP or other exams to “test out” of certain courses. This will be one of the few ways you can speed up your degree.

2. You likely can transfer your community college credits to fulfill at least some gen ed requirements.

3. Avoid moronic answers that recommend academic fraud.

4. Make sure any online school you enroll in is regionally accredited (the highest for a US institution) and you should be set.

My suggestion is to drop that idea from your mind and accept that a quality education takes the time and effort it takes and that is all that makes it valuable.

Take one or two classes at a time and eventually you’ll accumulate the hours required for the degree. If you don’t get started now, it’ll just take longer to get done.

ps: if you have the testing and self study skills, you can use CLEP/DANTES/ECE exams to test out of a portion of the degree program.

I would recommend checking out Athabasca University. It’s well known and I know that the courses transfer over to (for the lack of a better term) real universities.

Online Universities are For Profit corporations — so they are not cheap. Even worse — people do not respect those degrees, so you are paying for something that is worthless.

If you want an education — go to a real school. Most public universities are reasonably priced.
