Well, during your senior year of high school, you need to start putting in applications to colleges that have majors that have something to do with medicine. Once you have received acceptance into those colleges, you decide which one has the best majors and or programs that pertain to a career in medicine.

While in college, you should major in something along the lines of biology or chemistry. You may want to choose a minor as well, but in something outside of science; maybe english, art, or anything else you like. Something you know you won’t have too many problems with while managing that heavy science and math course load.

Before you graduate college, you need to make sure you take the MCAT, which is the major test you need to get into medical school. At the same time, you will need to be putting in applications to medical schools that you would like to attend, based on your MCAT score and GPA.

Once you enter graduate school you begin the last steps to becoming a doctor. After you complete your 3 or 4 years in medical school, you will have to do a residency. After this residency is complete, you need to take a board certification test, and then your dream of becoming a doctor is basically complete.

You should have started preparing while you were in high school with all college prep courses ans trying to get the highest grades possible. You need to get a B.S. degree in one of the sciences like Chemistry, or Biology. You need to take the Medical School Admissions Test [MCAT] and score very high to be accepted into med. school. The comes 4 years of med school. When you graduate, you get your MD degee. Afterwards you do a one year internship at a hospital. If you want to be a general practioner, you may take the exam, and if you pass, you are a GP. If you want to specialize, you will have to do a 3-5 year residency at an accredited hospital, then take board exam to be certified in your field.

You seriously need to ask that question? Have you heard of college? Talk to your guidance counselor for courses, etc.
