As big a one as you can get. Everybody loves the kid on the floor with the plasma screen. Trust me, you’ll make friends FAST.

I would say a 13″ because there just isn’t that much available space in a dorm room. I would also get a set of wireless speakers so that you don’t bother your roommate.
On the other hand you’ll probably won’t have much time to watch tv because of all the studying you’ll need to do.

Have you seen your dorm room yet? If it’s as small as most, I’d get a fairly small one, preferably a flat screen to take up less room. 19″ or smaller. You might consider a portable you can watch without disturbing your roommate.
OR will you have a computer? Get a large monitor that will serve as both computer screen and TV.

Honestly, bring a small inexpensive one or don’t bring one at all and just use a computer to watch movies on. I have friends that have brought hundreds of dvd’s and a big nice flat screen tv to their college dorm just to have it stolen. Just because you live on campus doesn’t mean you’re completely safeguarded from thieves, so be cautious and ALWAYS lock your door when you leave.

Are you taking a computer? Then you don’t need a TV as well. Otherwise, wait until you get there and see what space you have, then purchase one accordingly. It’s silly to take what you can’t use!

Go Jayhawks. I bought my daughter a 22″ that she’s been using for three years now. Works great.
