What kind of a career can I look forward to after studying English?
Hi!
Can you tell me what are the available courses and degrees in English, and their duration? What kind of a career can I look forward to after that, apart from teaching? If possible, kindly tell salary packages p.a.(in teaching too). What are the college/university fees? Please send in your answers in context of studying and working in India.

course-wise, it depends on your school. i’m an english major, and so far i’ve taken: intro to literature, british literature since 1900, modern victorian literature, modern poetry, light/comic verse, literary biography, and shakespeare. career opportunities can be seen here: http://careerservices.rutgers.edu/Menglish.html
