well if your major requires the business calc, youre kinda screwed in that you need to take it regardless. whats cool is that youve already taken calc 1, so you should know a lot of the formulas & stuffs.

the difference between the two is probably that the business calc (probably) touches more on how the specific math would relate to economics or financing or marketing or something…

its business for a reason, so its likely to less broad and open-ended, and more along the lines of a more specific class, probably narrowing down on the business aspects and maybe requiring some prior knowledge.

i have no clue which one would be more difficult. sorry =/

good luck. either way calculus is one hell of an up-there math class. hopefully you can find some way to work around this brief problem. =D

If you haven’t already, you should check if you can substitute calculus for business calculus. A lot of schools are flexible about this sort of thing. Business calculus will normally focus on applications related to business topics, rather than physics, but otherwise should be fairly similar. The difficulty level will depend mostly on the instructor and other things (e.g. if you school has higher admission standards for the business school than for the university as a whole), but if you already passed regular calculus, you’ll probably find business calc easy just because you’ve already seen most of it.
