My advice – pick a field in the natural sciences that interests you most – the most employable in your field being Chemistry and Physics. Major in one of these two, and I would also suggest studying something like Sociology with an emphasis in Crime and Deviance. In both cases, look for opportunities for undergraduate students to do real, substantial, independent research in the field.
