Im going to be in high school and i want to set my classes so i can learn up to when i go to college to go to school for the announcer or interviewer..

So what kind of things would i need to take for school?

You’re going to want to go into broadcasting/communications, as well as choosing an athletic based minor. (I can’t really give an example for this, sorry!) There are some really good schools out there, but I have one major piece of advice — don’t limit yourself to two sports. Especially two of the “less mainstream” sports. It is going to be important for you to know the rules/jargon for ALL sports, which will make you more marketable and more likely to find a job. Good luck!

Look into Speech and Communications degrees, with an emphasis on Broadcasting. A Sports Management/Administration can often be combined as a major/minor degree.

One other career option could be as a College/University Sports Information Coordinator. In addition to calling the matches/games, these people update the scores, set up webcasts, and work with the media. Very challenging and interesting work.

Good luck!

A degree is not necessary. I have a few friends in broadcasting that didn’t finish their third year of college. Your best bet is to be related to someone already in the business. If you are not that lucky a degree in journalism would be your best way into it. Whatever University you chose to go will most likely have Sports teams, intern with their Sports Information Department. That will get you an in with some of the people in the media. Also if you have any local Sports Radio stations in your area, check their website and see when you can apply for an internship with them. It is not an easy area to break into. No matter what any idiot says about not be able to pronounce names. Good luck.

I would consider either a communications degree, maybe with an emphasis in journalism or broadcasting.

You may also consider sport management.

I would look at schools that have their own TV or radio stations and ask how quickly students move up the ladder – it would be great experience.

Your call is Rebecca – rilly? A behavioral expert as according to your recent answer? The word ‘wellbeing care expert Heal Thyself ‘includes techniques! playstation maximum american commentators/newscasters get on my nerves no count if or no longer they be male or lady (different than Anderson Cooper who’s dreamy). Anderson Cooper is a decrease above something because of the fact he’s gay and gay adult men are extra constructive at each thing. *trevor ducks* television is so crap often that I have been given rid of my television in January and have not neglected it. NEO: Oh specific he’s – relatively one hundred% real and he lives along with his boyfriend in Chelsea, NYC. EDIT: I in simple terms had a cynical theory – maximum visitors are male – for this reason the blonde presenter? scores.

Knowledge of sports is more important than education. Most sports announcers can only talk AmeriKan and they terribly mispronounce foreign proper names… you don’t need a degree in journalism to open your mouth and prove what a fool you are.

Most announcers are retired players for the sport.
