What do you have to study in order to become a maternal/child nurse? What major should I apply for?

should i just go for an RN degree or is there a specialty i must apply to?

You should become an RN first, concentrate on pediatric electives where possible. Once you become an RN, you may have to take additional courses to achieve your goal

You have to get the RN, and then you specialize by taking extra classes. Don’t let it scare you off though, because with the RN, you just apply at an OB/GYN office and they’ll let you know about CEU’s (continuing education units) after you get the job.

If you only want to become a nurse than become a RN and specialise in children’s health. Or if you want to become a child doctor/ paediatrician you have to become a GP and specialise in children.
