What do I need for a double-major in Spanish?

I plan on going to UCSB and majoring in Political Science, but I also would like a major in Spanish. I already passed the Spanish Language and Literature exams for AP…how many units of Spanish would I need for a double-major? A minor? Which do you all recommend if I plan of being either a gov’t or Spanish teahcer?

First, look into the undergraduate course catalog in the College of Arts and Science (A&S) or whatever UCSB calls the college in which Spanish and Political Science departments are found. There is likely a section describing the requirements for double majors. You could also try the Index in the back of the catalog under a heading like double majors.

If you aren’t close enough to UCSB to cruise over to the campus, get online to the university’s website. Then click on the A&S page and go from there. You could also type “double major” into the search stripe.

Good luck! That’s a very good combination nowadays.

It depends on your school. Every school lists how many credits you need to a major or minor. They also list how high you have to score on the AP test to get credit.

Well, it might help to major in education too, if you plan on being a teacher.
