Balancing it all in school with work?

I am in a rigorous masters program that requires two afternoons a week, plus clinical experiences. I am concerned because I am living off of savings right now, and need to be working. Does anyone have any suggestiosn as to how to effectively block times and make it work all together? For me personally, I have found it difficult to explain to a potential employer that i can;t work a coupel of hours here, and there… nor should I… There has got to be a good way to group things together and leave sufficient time for work to make money. Any suggestions?

You said it yourself – group things together. Block off the times that you have to be somewhere (in class) or other things that won’t change from week to week. Then schedule work around those permanent things, then schedule other flexible activities (you don’t mention if your clinical experiences are flexible in time or not) around all of that.

You’ll find a way to make it work. Good luck.

Most employers are pretty understanding when it comes to college students. Find one thats willing to work with you, or come up with some hours that you would be willing to work. There has to be nights and weekends that you are available. Good luck.
