rockability, they’ll usually have a two-part dealie. In one, a college official will talk about how wonderful and unique the college is. They’ll hit every bragging point possible. There will be a Q&A at the end, time permitting, and you won’t be expected to pose questions, although you certainly can.

Then a student will take small groups on a walking tour, talking about the various buildings, famous graduates, campus life, the food, social gatherings, dorm conditions, student safety, and more. We always got a lot more information from this part on whether the school was a good fit for The Kid. Again, you’re not expected to ask questions, but you can. I used to ask about safety if the student hadn’t brought it up, and about noise levels. (A light sleeper, I was seriously sleep-deprived all through college!)

If you have an interview, then you’re expected to first answer, then ask questions about what the school has that makes it right for you. How many of the faculty in the area you expect to major in are fully tenured? Does the department have a “star” in its academic field? Do freshmen take classes from full professors, or mostly assistant or associate professors? Ask why you should select this school over its biggest rival. Ask about facilities you’d use, from dining halls to lounges to science or langauge labs to the library to music practice rooms. Make them sell the college to you.

Make sure that you are able to talk to a student and a admissions rep. When i did this I always asked wut they required regarding academics (etc). Make sure when u go on the tour u ask to see a few key places. Always ask to see a dorm room (one that you could possibly be staying in during ur time at college). I had a school that refused to show us a dorm room because they were so disgusting and run down. Ask to look in a typical classroom and scope out the place..if the classroom doesnt look good chances are the school doesnt pay attention to the students learning enviroment. Always ask if there is health care and campus safety on site…these are important when ur sick or in need of help.I forgot to mention but beforehand see if you can talk to a prof in the department ur looking into just so you can get a feel of the department and wut ur going to be learning…also make sure the prof seems interested in wut they are saying..i had a meeting with a prof and she didnt even bother to show up which gave me a feel on how they feel about their students. If ur checking out big schools ask about parking or reliable transportation to school. Oh and ask about the meal plans…some schools including my own require you to pay a huge amount of money for a meal plan…this may or may not be a big problem for u but for me the food was disgusting so my parents wasted almost a grand in the meal plan. These were a lot of the questions that i asked and it help me make my decision…remember if you dont feel comfortable at that school ur visting chances are that its not for u

Hope this helps

judgements/grants that helped pupils make their decision to bypass to a particular college is: economic help kit, the dimensions of the college/instructions, the ambience around the campus, the variety .. and so on. approximately asking questions – this is going to come to you once you bypass on the college excursion. at times you do no longer even might desire to ask if the excursion instruction manual provide good information.
