Is Assumption College a good school? I like it, but thoughts of transferring have floated through my head.?

It’s not that I don’t like it, but when I made the decision to go here it was kind of a shot in the dark.

My other options at the time were:

Rivier College

Merrimack College

St. Joseph’s College of Maine

Westfield State College

UMass Lowell

Suffolk University

I’m a political science major.

Of the schools you listed, to be honest, Assumption is among the strongest and best reputed. Unless Assumption was a poor fit – and it’s not – I wouldn’t have you transfer to one of these other schools. I don’t see the benefit. And some of these would actually be a step down.

If you wanted to take a step up, you could consider UMass Amherst, Fordham, Boston College, Boston University, Notre Dame, Fairfield University, and Providence College. Maybe Tufts and Brandeis. Those kind of have the vibe your list gave me, but are more competitive schools than the ones that you mentioned, and on a par with Assumption or a clear step up.

But Assumption is a good school. It’s better than most of the other schools on your list. If you like it, stay there.
