Unfamiliar with schools in India, but I do know about the U.S. schools.

It depends on what you are wanting to do, do you wish to fly professionally or do you just want to know how to fly?

There are several classifications of pilots, the most common are: Private and Commerical. Commerical pilots are the ones that fly for airlines, while private pilots, are the ones that fly for themselves and do not get paid to transport people.

If you wish to fly professionally, in the U.S., you can get a university education or attend a flying school that can be found near any major airport.

For the university education route, the most prominent schools in the U.S. are Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and University of North Dakota, but there many other schools that offer an education in aviation.

For your other questions, you will need to research these schools and go from there.

To the OP, Like stated above, If your son is in the 8th grade, he is going to change his mind next week, and tell you he wants to now be a fireman instead. Seldom do kids actually know what they want to do at 8th grade and follow through a 10 year span, which is about how long its going to take him to be a pilot from where he stands now. I’ll tell you the course of action anyways. To be an Air Force Pilot, you need to be a commissioned officer, and pass a rigorous physical know as the “flight physical” Its a more in depth physical that tests eye sight, depth perception, blood pressure, and more. To be an Officer in the US Military service, you need a 4 year bachelors degree. The degree can be any major as long as it is from an accredited university. However, selection for pilots is very competitive and selective. So a technical major is favorable. He will need to maintain a good GPA in high school to get into college, and also maintain a good GPA through college as well. Choose a route to commssion (i.e. AFROTC, OCS AFAcademy) stay physically fit. If he maintains grades and plays a sport or volunteers in the community, it will all greatly helps his chances at gaining acceptance into OCS or AFROTC and furthermore becoming a Pilot.

Emory Riddle in Florida is the best pilot school in the United States. Western Michigan University is second, I believe. Visit their websites to see how to apply.
