What colleges will accept me?

I have a 2.5 highschool GPA and scored a 22 on the ACT test.

I’m worried that I won’t be able to get into a college.

BTW, I’m in no way interested in community college.

Thanks,

Ryan

There are 4000 colleges in the USA, and fewer than 50 of them are really “selective” – meaning that they accept less than half their applicants. This means that there are hundreds, or even thousands! of schools that would accept you.

True, you are not going to an Ivy League school, but there are all kinds of well known schools that will look at your application – especially if you have a few extracurriculars that show that you are a good guy – like Key Club, some community service organization, Eagle Scout, Little League assistant coach… something that shows who you are.

You can go tot he princetonreview.com or collegeboard.com websites and use the college search programs to pick out a selective or less selective school that is in the state you like and has some majors that you are interested in. There are plenty of choices!

Good luck. I think you will find a place that is fun and productive for you.

What’s wrong with community colleges. To be honest, you are not told about the benefits of it..You can get your classes for cheaper without so many holds..At a uc you are required to take certain classes because you are a freshman..community classes with placement can get you to whatever you want. You get a higher GPA which is worth more in college and transfer to a way better school than you’d probably get into now. You should really look into it. Work harder this year if this is your final year before you apply. It’s going to require lots of research on your behalf because it is more competitive. If you have other things like Club memberships, volunteer work, awards, sports, you have a better shot. Apply to state schools or other state schools that are not in your state because many look for other students to create diversity.

i think u could get in if u really search. go on collegeboard, princetonreview those are good sites to look at colleges

do a search on collegeboard and you will find plenty of colleges that will probably accept you. most of the state universities and some are community colleges. the city university of new york schools are easy to get into.

good luck. u’ll get in somewhere im sure. maybe u could try taking the SAT to see if u do better on that. or just retake the ACT and really study. but if u grade stays the same i think u can still get in. just do some research.

i’m sure there is an open enrollment college somewhere near you locally. TSU is one in MY area (houston tx) so just do your research and talk to your counselors. even if you get into some college you’re not crazy about for the first year (even community college, even though you’re not interested in that at all) you can always transfer out once you get your college GPA up
