It’s a 2 year full time (40 hours/week) program. You can find accredited schools here (choose radiography and your state): http://jrcert.org/cert/Search.jsp

I am a Rad Tech also, and the program I went through was pretty time-consuming and intense. Firs I had to do about two semesters of generals, then I could actually apply for the Rad Tech program. After I got into the program, it was 6 semesters of classes and clinicals. Fall, spring, summer, fall, spring, summer. Once you are finished with the program, you have to take a registry exam to be certified. You come out of the program with an Associates in Applied Science degree. Hope this helps.

I’m going into med technology as well. I didn’t take any of the AP science courses in highschool, but I heard if you did, they count for college credit. My advice is, take a bio and chem class in highschool. You’re more than likely going to have to take the first science classes for the major anyway even if u already took it in highschool, but at least you’ll have prior knowledge, and you’ll get a better grade in it. Whatever college you were going to, talk to one of the advisors in the science department.
