What are good undergraduate schools to attend if I want to be a lawyer?

I want to be a lawyer, and I was wondering of some good undergraduate schools that would help me along my journey?

It doesn’t really matter what undergrad you go to, just as long as its accredited and you get as good of grades as possible. While you are there I suggest taking a critical thinking class to prepare you for the LSAT. Lawyers have to have good writing skills so you should take classes like that also.Law school leaves a lot of people in 150K of debt so you should go to a local public university to save money. Live at home and get as debt free as possible before entering law school.

Don’t be too obsessed with your undergrad school. As with most programs that involve post-graduate work, the quality of the graduate school is considerably more important than the undergrad one. LOTS of people who are currently practicing law went to ordinary state colleges during their undergrad years.

What’s most important in undergrad years is doing really good work — the kind of work that will earn you a solid spot in graduate and law school.

In other words, get into the best school you can and take plenty of pre-law classes, but don’t think you’ve blown your career if you don’t jump right into Harvard.

It doesn’t really matter where you go to undergrad. Just get REALLY good grades and work experience. Volunteer to help in a law office or, better yet, a legal services organization.

Fordham Law school in NYC goes mostly unnoticed but it is one of the top law schools in the USA.
