i am a long distance learning student, well just for the fall 2007.

when i attend in person my major will be Finance .the first semster i should take eng-math-mis and two electives.so i thought i would take those courses online so i can catch up, and be on time. just looking at the long distance learning courses http://www.ceao.arizona.edu/dist/credit_courses.html

none of the subjects in the finance sample plan program can be taken online, or maybe there is , jeez, i dont quite know. i am soo new to this,

My Main Q is if the long distance learning courses will count as elective then i can take any course i wish right ?

If they will definitely count as just electives, then take courses you want to take, because it doesn’t matter which courses you take as electives. (Definitely ask about this on Monday if you are worried, though!) I looked at the list of long-distance courses, but I don’t know which ones you would be interested in.

It looks like “Diverse Issues in Contemporary Society” is something that anyone in any major can take.

“Financial Management for Engineers” is still a finance course even if it doesn’t count towards a finance major. You might want to ask your advisor at the appointment if it is a hard course.

“Money, Consumers and Family” is a course that relates to money, so maybe it will be interesting to take.

“Lifespan Human Development” looks interesting to me. 😉

You might want to read through all of the descriptions of the courses to find interesting ones. The above classes are just some that I thought might be helpful or interesting for you to take.

Make sure that any courses that you take will count toward your degree. It looks like you will need some electives, so if you can’t take finance classes, do the electives now. You need to find out what Tier I TRAD/IND means. Are there specific classes that fulfill those requirements? Find the course catalog online and see if you can find that code next to any of the online classes that are offered. Good luck!

OK I did a bit more research – just click on the name of the course here: http://www.ceao.arizona.edu/dist/credit_courses.html and it will tell you what tier it falls into under general education.
