The best website to buy cheap, used college textbooks that are in usable condition?

I need to buy some college textbooks, and this is my first year so I don’t know much about buying them. I searched the net for these websites and couldn’t find all I need. Any website that sells cheap used textbooks that are in useable condition, if anyone knows anygood websites please just mention them. Or if you know any places in or around Staten Island, NY. THANKS!!!

try campusi.com. they give a list of stores that are selling the books. it goes from low to high . you can also try getting older editions from you library. They might be able to get the books from other libraries in you state. the books usually don’t change if so just get the changes from a classmate. i save a lot of money this way.

You need the ISBN, which is on the back of the book, to make sure that you have the right edition of the book. That being said, sometimes you can get books that are the least expensive by buying a previous edition. I’ve used books that are the 11th edition when the 12th is the newest one out, and after asking my professor the difference between the two editions, the difference is so minimal that it’s not worth the 100 extra dollars. On half.com, sometimes the second-newest edition is really that much cheaper.

I use half.com and booksoncampus.com to sell my books. Booksoncampus.com is a Facebook-affiliated site, but you can meet someone locally on your campus to pick up the book (eliminating shipping costs). I also use amazon, but have found that it’s a lot more expensive than the other two.

Good luck!

Go to http://www.bigwords.com ! On the main page, there is a place to put in the Book title, author, or ISBN. This searches their catalog for new and used textbooks. They find the best prices that include shipping. If you are looking for multiple books, you can save even more because they find the cheapest price at one store AND the cheapest price at multiple stores to get you the best deal. I used Bigwords this year and saved $375 on 5 books!

If you need help, feel free to contact me.

Try www.half.com.

Most students keep their textbooks and sell them on this website. This website is owned by Ebay.
