Yes, most undegraduate colleges accept people with a GED. Some really good universities though, do not accept GEDs.

*Some schools have a scholarship for people with a high GED score. However, most schools do not have GED specific scholarships…but rather based on your ACT score and/or GPA.

Maintain a good grade in college, and then you can go off to med school!

While I can’t say this absolutely, graduate schools don’t usually care about what you did (or didn’t do) in High School. They’ll be concerned about how well you did in college, what college you got your degree from, how you did on standardized tests, etc.

In your case I would study like hell and try to make sure that the college/university that ultimately gives you your degree is as prestigious as possible.

This depends on the state your in, but you might consider spending two years in community college and then transferring into a good four year state school. For example the University of California schools take a lot of transfers from community colleges. Diablo Valley College, which is a CC near my house, sends a lot of people to Berkeley. If you graduate from Cal with a high GPA you should be able to get into a good grad school. Good luck.

Thoretically yes- it depends on the policies of the school at which you’d like to apply to do your undergrad, but if they accept you and your grades and med school application are good enough, you should be able to get in having a GED and not a diploma. Good luck!

Yes, of course you can. A GED is the equiv. of a high school diploma. As long as you take the MCAT’s, and get your bachelors it doesn’t matter. When you get to the point that you are applying to grad schools no one asks you about high school or equivalents because they assume you already have one- you can’t go to college without it. While applying to law school no one ever asked about my high school

I don’t think so. I only say this b/c when I was interested in medical school, they told me that my High School GPA had to be above a 3.5

Face the facts. You didn’t even make it through 4 years of High School what makes you think you’ll make it through 8 years of intensive Medical School Training at a cost of $40,000 a year.
