Somebody told me I could go to Alabama A&M University for free. Is It true?

I have a friend here at Job Corps that told me that because of some diversity law (they couldn’t tell me what it is called) that a mostly black school would have a program to let people from other ethnic groups to pay for most or all of their college tuition. My friend said all that was required was that you be over the age of 21 and have an ACT score of over 17. She likes to make jokes so she may just be pulling my leg but I figured I’d try and find out about it. I’ve looked on the internet but so far I haven’t found anything on my own.

Lots of Universities with a predominant ethnic group do have excellent programs for admitting minorities. So the best thing to do is call the admissions office and find out. I wouldn’t recommend a white girl going to A&M though. You must have grown up in a different ‘hood than I did, to even consider it.

Sounds like rubbish, however a quick call to the Admissions or Guidance Dept. at AA&M will quickly answer the question.
