Interesting question. In most cases, acquisition of a postgrad qualification should enhance your chances of getting a good job. On the other hand, postgrad study should be enjoyable (ie a pursuit of interest), otherwise it becomes a painful drawn out ordeal…

Anyway, to answer your question – I don’t think the two are exclusive. Undertaking postgrad study and pursuing your academic interest can certainly lead to improved job prospects.

but the people i know who are taking post-grad studies are actually reasoning out that they are missing school so much.

post-grad studies is the only way for them to be backk at school.
