Should I not send scores to Cornell?

I’m applying ED to Cornell University for Meteorology. I have a 96 GPA (weighted) and take the most rigorous courses at my school. My ACT is in Cornell’s range, 29, but my SAT is not M-620 CR-570 W-570. Can I just send the ACT? Also they recommend 2 SAT II’s but do not require them. On math I got a 660 which is good, but I bombed Physics (530.) Should I retake it or take another science, send it in? Not send it In?

I also do 3 sports a year, double section leader, 250+ hours of community service area-all state and I am hispanic. Do you think I will get into Cornell University?

Colleges only look at your score in order to see how good you are, not how bad you are. It won’t hurt sending both because they will not frown upon the fact that you did worse in one than the other.

Retake all the tests you can (you do better the second time because you know what to expect). Then, once you’re all good to go, send them in.

Alright, here’s my personal opinion: Cornell is VERY selective, as you must already know. It looks like you’re doing extremely well in school and in extra-curriculars. As long as you are lettering in at least two sports and your community service shows dedication, I see no reason why they wouldn’t take you. It also doesn’t hurt that you’re hispanic.

I’m only worried about how good your high school is, because they use a system that makes it easier for people from better schools to get in.

Good luck, my friend.

When in doubt or don’t know, don’t be afraid to ask. It would make sense to ASK the college/uinversity . .directly, what their requirements are to enroll in it, before you even consider going. DON’T DO THINGS AT THE LAST MINUTE, but plan ahead, everything . .from financial aid, ACT scores, SAT scores, any class subjects required, like advanced Math, Science, etc. . . because all this detail will help you have a better understanding whether your efforts will match your goals. Face it, be realistic about what you can and can not do, and whether you will be able to get by in this University (if they got strict requirements or not), if you are not good at one subject, like Science.

hope this helps,

Angela

P.S. Try to RELAX, and stay calm . .because this will help you think things more throughly, and make more sound decisions.

They will know you are hiding something and you will look really stupid if they request them (People do that all the time and they know). If you truly know they won’t ask, try it, but if they usually ask for them, it’s better to just send it.
