should i get a second master’s degree?

i have a master’s degree in special education but i’m thinking about going into the real estate field. There are a few master’s programs in real estate law that I would consider. I could hammer one out in a year and a half. Would this be worth it? do people usually get 2 master’s degrees?

Do you think you’d like real estate? Have you ever worked in this field? I ask this because a Master’s degree is a huge commitment of time and money. Do you want to restrict yourself to real estate law or would a general business law degree serve you better?

The other question I would ask is why are you thinking of changing fields? Are you using your special ed. degree? You can get your PhD. as quickly as you can get another master’s degree. This would allow you to become a principal, a school superintendent, or a state level director of education.

I love quoting movies and this quote jumped in my mind when I read your post,

“What does a Space Ranger actually do?”

It’s from Toy Story, one of my son’s favorite movies.

Point…oh, sorry… Find out from the school what someone with a master’s degree in real estate law “actually does”. Look in the classified section of your local paper to see if there are any jobs advertised you could do with this degree. It sounds pretty specialized and I would want to know for sure if it would be worth the time, money and have the future job prospects you would require at your age and location. I’m assuming you wouldn’t be a lawyer after this program so who would you work for and what would you do…
