A lot is going to depend on your study habits. If you aren’t accustomed to having to hit the books hard, going to a community college to develop good study habits may be a smart thing to do. If you do have good study habits, a community college may still be a good thing to do. Here’s why: the prereqs for med school can be accomplished in two semesters. That’s kind of a heavy load, though. But your community college may offer some of these classes that will enable you to focus on one or two of the classes for each semester. The important thing is to not waste your time or money taking a class that is for non-majors (i.e., taking a biology course that is a biology for non-biology major is unacceptable for entry into med school. If you go the community college route make sure all of your credits will transfer to the university–most do, but every now and then a surprise creeps up.
Just as a FYI…radiology is one of the more competitive residencies–so you need to be on top of your game to get accepted. That might influence your decision about a community college. Doing well at a university doesn’t create any issue. Not that transferring from a community college would, but you never know when somebody on an admissions committee might have a personal bias.
You can/should take self improvement college courses with no credits. If your composition, grammar skills are indicated by your question I would strongly suggest that you follow the community route.
But the bottom line, in general, the community college is not a hindrance to acceptance to a regular college.
Good luck.
