Automatic admission?

So Texas State University has assured admission standards that are as follows:

top10%- No min SAT or ACT

top25%- min of 920(SAT)/ 20(ACT)

top50%- min of 1010(SAT)/ 22(ACT)

top75%- min or 1180(SAT)/ 26(ACT)

That is directly out of their catalogue. Does that mean that with my 1330 SAT score, I am able to go to this school, even though I am only in the top 25%? I’ve heard of the top ten rule, but not the rest of it so I’m really confused. Do other Texas schools have this same policy?

Yes, if it is right out of their catalog. However, I think that catalog is using the old SAT scores, from looking at the equivalent ACT score. So you are probably looking at an old catalog, or one that just uses the reading and math score to make the minimum numbers. Since the test is now out of 2400 points and not 1600 points, the minimum score is probably higher now (or, as I said, they are using the reading and math sections only).

Not sure what the rest of the Texas schools do–I am a Virginian.
