Question regarding transferring of credits?
If credits are lost from one college to another, does it mean that the history of actually having taken the course(s) is completely wiped from the transcript? In other words, if I transfer from one school to another and lose course, a,b,c, and d, would it look as though I never even took the course? How does this work?

No, if a college does not accept your credits in transfer, it does not wipe out your credits they didn’t accept. The college you took the credits from will still have record of your credits. Transcripts are kept indefinitely.
College’s don’t always accept all transfer credits because either their college does not have an equivalent course, the course does not meet their standards, or rather that course does not fulfill a degree requirement in the program you are transferring to.
Needless to say, whatever coursework you took at a college, is part of your permanent record. Just because your transfer institution does not accept it, does not mean you never took the course.
Best wishes!
