Sizes usually depend on the school itself, but a typical dorm room in not very big at all. I can tell you that I have one of the bigger rooms in my dorm hall and we were able to fit 2 beds, 2 desks and chairs, an extra shelf, the refrigerator, 2 televisions… all that stuff, but we only had a small space to work with in the center for walking and stuff.

As for what they’re like, the rooms are pretty boring. I recommend bringing a lot of pictures and stuff to hang on your walls to make it feel more like home and less like prison. Also, dorm halls can get pretty noisey, and while they do have quiet hours, they can still get quite noisey as RA’s do sleep too and can sleep through the noise, so bring an IPOD or something with you that you could listen to while you sleep, and don’t be afraid to go to your RA and complain, you pay to live there, you have classes to worry about, if other people are going to be rude, you need to handle it in the best possible way.

Hope this helps. 🙂

A regular dorm room is usually about 10’x13′ at my school. That’s for a room with 2 people. Rooms with 3 people are a little bigger and rooms with 1 person are smaller. At my school there was one room that was the size of a single but they gave it to two people (my roommate and I) but charged us the same amount. Typical. Bedrooms usually have a dresser, closet, desk with chair and bed. Some colleges also have apartments and those have living rooms with couches and tables and a kitchen area with a fridge. These are usually for upperclassmen. Usually colleges post the room sizes and what’s included on their website. Residence Life and Housing usually has a page on any college’s website.

It depends on the university. Dorms are different. They can fit 1 or 2 people. If you are thinking of attending a UNIVERSITY than look at some of the dorm rooms. They split male and female students. Males go with males and females go with females.

Not very big. I’d say about the size of an average bedroom. The ones where I went to college had the furniture built in. A closet, chest of drawers, bed, and desk, all connected to each other and the wall.

Each is completely different. Even the pictures colleges put up on websites are obviously the biggest on campus.

You’re not going to find out until you get there.
