How can you know for sure, if being a doctor is the right thing for you?

the other post got too long, but thanks to everyone for the answers, i will remember each one, i guess i am just unsure of where my life may be going, and i thought everything did fall into place when i decided i wanted to become a director, but then i started to miss the sciences. i think i just need more time to think about what i am really interested in. but thank you to everybody for your answers. and good luck on your vet career! ๐Ÿ™‚

I’m not sure if you want to be a director of a copmany or a doctor??, lets assume it’s doctor and you did a typo error

I guess if you love helping people and making a difference to their life, it can be very rewarding, helping somone from pain and making it better, it will be a long and hard job. But if you think you won’t mind the long hours and perhaps not much of a private life andyour not doing it just for the $$$$$ then your heart is in the right place then that’s how you know you want to be a doctor. Good luck.

If you can, see if you can arrange an internship in a doctor’s office, or better yet volunteer with a clinic that serves low-income folks. Talk to the staff there, find out the challenges. One of the biggest challenges will be when you’re out of college and doing your residency — a friend of mine’s husband is doing his now and it’s wreaking a bit of havoc, especially the schedule. I’d say talk to as many people in the field as you can, and make sure they tell you the pros and the cons so you can make an effective decision.

If you care about people and aren’t into it for the money, then it’s more than likely right for you.
