very briefly, mostly for historical purposes, comparative reasoning. cognitive, social, and maybe developmental psychology courses. if you are looking for mental processes and behavioral studies then a cognitive course is your best bet in psychology. if you are looking for studies on animals i would say anthropology is a good direction to go in. maybe even biology.

Depending on your college, they may or may not offer courses you can take on animal behavior. However, most psychology programs focus on the study of the HUMAN brain and mental processes. If you’re interested in animals, you might want to pursue a different degree.

General psychology focuses mainly on humans. Animals are used to show how it may work in humans.

Depends on what college you attend. But instead of the psychology department look at Biology classes too as they may be more of what you are looking for.
