process for being a doctor?

right, this is confusing for me now.

You finish high school,

then go to university/college and do pre-me

then spend 4 yrs at medical school

then what??

what do u actually have to do? I mean, can u start practicing directly after getting out of the medical school? what are your steps for being a successful doctor??

Please help with any info u have.thanks.

After med school is residency, which could be up to 8 years more depending on your focus or specialty…and then passing a medical licensing exam for the state in which you live or where you want to practice….and then you can start your medical practice.

so you are looking at about 6 to 12 years AFTER your BA (which is not required, but a good idea to get before starting medical school.
