Join a Frat?

I will be entering my second year of college this fall and I’m not the most social guy as well as the fact that I’ll be living in an apartment instead of in a dorm, it’ll be harder to interact with people. Anyway, the point is that I see joining a frat as the best way to socialize with people, find parties, talk with girls, etc. My question is what can I expect from joining a frat? What will I have to do? What will it cost? How much time will it take up?

Paying for friends isn’t the way to build close friendships, and is essentially what frats are about. They do soak-up tons of time as well.

I’d suggest that you join one or two student organizations (aka, clubs) on campus that interest you. They serve as social networks as well, but are centered around common interests rather than some archaic allegiance to a pseudo-brotherhood that you buy into. Finding friends is about finding people with common interests (and learning not to compete with them…), which is easy to do in student clubs.

Good luck!

Frats are not for each individual. As others have suggested, the fee is many times incredibly severe and club (fairly pledgeship) could be incredibly time ingesting. As for the thought you are able to bypass away in case you hit upon it incredibly is not for you…it incredibly is merely genuine in case you have the opt to make enemies for existence. De-pledging will purchase you years of ridicule from that fraternity. in case you opt to pledge, Sophomore year is your terrific guess considering the fact which you’re starting to be a miles better theory of what the various greeks are like and what variety of human beings pledge. in case you’re doing it to purchase acquaintances i does not recommend it. yet once you do your examine there are some that concentration on the incredibly brotherhood area which could be stable in case you’re actually not in activities or have not have been given any yet another source of camaraderie and fellowship (if it incredibly is something which you opt for).
