If your school offers a clinical laboratory science program you should check it out. It is a great program to gain entrance into medical school and if later you decide not to go to med school then you are all set for a job since CLS graduates are in high demand.

Probably any major that allows you to take the prequisites. For medical school (you should look up to specific requirements for your school by the way) you typically need phsyics and calculus, biology, and chemistry and perhaps biochemistry. Perhaps a biology major, but it’s alot of work. You could actually do any major you want as long as you take the prequisite courses too.

I’m planning on going to medical school too. I want to be a psychiatrist. I’m a psychology major.

i went to an admissions counseling program on grad studies and there was a rep from a mede school. he said that a lot of med programs want to diversify their entering classes. he said most people major in bio or chemistry to enter but nowadays , they are more apt to look at a history major or music major. he said all you have to do is do well in bio 101 and 102, organic chem 101 and 102, calc 1 and calc 2 and i think another class. he said it comes down to ur undergrad gpa and the grades in the sciences as well as mcat. so do yourself a favor an lean for a liberal art you you can focus on your science easier

statistically, pre-med and biology, about 70% of all applicants are those majors.

no offense, if you major in XYZ, expect to master XYZ, then master biology and organic chemistry – if you major in biology, then you only need to know biology and organic chemistry. medical school only cares about how well you perform in biology and organic chemistry, not XYZ. however doing poorly in XYZ will hurt you.

doing well in biology but poorly in XYZ means you plan your life poorly – thus, the majority of med school applicants are pre-med or biology majors.
