Obtaining a 4.0 GPA?

If you make one C (2.0) and all As (4.0) for the remainder of your time in school is it possible to graduate with a 4.0 or will the average reflect the C.

If you make anything BUT an A at ANYTIME in your academic career then it will be impossible to get a 4.0 GPA. Now you might be in the 3.9 range but you’d never be able to pull off a perfect 4.0. When I was in the last semester of my senior year my GPA had basically topped out around a 3.89 and no matter if I got straight A’s or C’s my GPA wouldn’t go higher then a 3.89 and wouldn’t go lower then a 3.85. Playing with numbers is fun! 🙂

Are you in college? No, it would be reflect as a very high 3.9. I had a friend with one “B” and the rest “A’s” throughout her whole college career. Her transcript said 3.99. If you want a 4.0 to get in to a selective grad school, you would still be able to do it with one C. They might see the C as not representative of your ability, since you had so many other A’s.

If you are in high school, the C could be outweighed by a weighted system if you took AP classes.

taking AP courses and making all A’s in those could boost your GPA, since an A in AP course worths 5.0 on the 4.0 scale, couple of courses will help, the more the better.

I had a few B’s, 3 AP classes which resulted in A’s, the rest was all A’s. by the time I graduated, I think my GPA was around 4.1+

by the time you graduate it won’t be 4.0 because u have that c, but if u take AP classes and earn A’s it could become a 4.0 on a weighted scale.

It depends on the school ‘s grading policy. Some schools give extra weight to certain subjects or to honors or higher classes.

While it is nice to have a 4.0 you should concentrate on the learning itself. There are many extra-curricular activities that schools have. School is also a place to enjoy yourself and enjoy learning. Those are good things that you should carry through for your entire life
