My roommate is trying to compete with me in class, and now hes trying to distract me?

Deep down I know he knows I’m better because I’m in advanced classes while he’s still in introductory classes. We have one class together though. He’s always trying to do better than me but he just can’t.. He would spend 2 hours on an assignment and I would spend 20 minutes on it and stilll get a higher mark..

My question is: Why is he always trying to distract me? He’s always asking me if I want to go out when I’m sutdying… He never asks if I want too on the weekends… What’s his deal?
