I read your question and wondered why you have such a low grade point average but yet want to pursue such a tough career that involves constant learning and studying and applying yourself 100%.

In order to pursue the medical field you must have at least the basic skills as math, science, biology, anatomy, chemistry, and english. And your grades in high school should reflect your knowledge, a 2.0 suggests that either you didn’t bother to study, or that you just aren’t cut out for the more academic career choices. You can go to college and try, but believe me, if you thought high school was tough then college will really show you what’s up. I’m not sure you have what it takes…talk to your guidance counselor and see what options are best for you, I don’t think RN is it.

it depends on how long ago you completed high school. also where you are wanting to go. at a community college you have to take a placement exam to determine which courses you need to take. a nursing school does the same thing if you dont pass there entrance exam then you dont get in.

but i am going to ask you something, you barely got by high school, sorry a 2.0 isnt very good. if you do the same thing with nursing, what kind of nurse will you end up being? do you want someone taking care of you (that could kill you with 1 mistake) that barely got by?

You should attend a local community college that provides a two-year nursing degree. Get your grades way up and then go for the RN.

You won’t get into nursing school immediately, take your prereq classes, kick major butt in them, then apply. You may not get in the first time, but keep trying.
