Maximum hours for a degree question?

My university says that you must finish your degree withing 180 attempted hours. They also say that “Students attempting a second Bachelors Degree will be reviewed under the same guidelines as a student attempting their first Bachelors

Degree. ”

Does this mean that I can not go over 180 hours even with a double major?

Ask a professor or an adviser. At my school there are a lot of people I know who are pursuing double majors. I knew a student who did a triple major in five years. He majored in geography, French and history. He finished that in under 180 credits. You only have to take one set of general education requirements no matter how many majors you have. If you think you need more than 180 credits to graduate with your major then you need to figure out which classes you have to take. Make a schedule. You don’t have to follow it but it should give you an idea of what you need to take to graduate. Then if you still think there’s a problem ask someone. You shouldn’t need 180 credits for a double major.

Every campus has a unique set of rules on this, so ask your advisor, your Chair, your Dean and your Registrar.
